Double Bet in Sic Bo: Exact Winning Condition

How Double Bets Work in Sic Bo

Double Bet in Sic Bo is a wager on one chosen pair, such as 4-4, across three dice. NICEPH includes Sic Bo among its live casino game options, while the exact Double layout and payout depend on the table used. The goal here is simple: Explain the win condition, odds, payouts, and practical use.

Double Bet in Sic Bo: Exact Winning Condition

A Double is not a bet that your stake will be doubled. It predicts that one specific face value will appear on at least two of the three dice.

There are six possible selections:

  • Double 1: At least two dice show 1.
  • Double 2: At least two dice show 2.
  • Double 3: At least two dice show 3.
  • Double 4: At least two dice show 4.
  • Double 5: At least two dice show 5.
  • Double 6: At least two dice show 6.

Choose Double 4, for example, and 4-4-1, 4-2-4 and 6-4-4 all win. A roll of 4-5-6 loses because only one die shows the selected number.

Three Matching Dice Still Qualify

Under standard Specific Double rules, 4-4-4 still satisfies Double 4 because the selected number appears at least twice. The Double payout stays the same; it does not automatically become the much larger Specific Triple payout. Evolution’s published rules use this treatment for two or three matching dice.

Placing and Settling a Double Bet

A practical round is straightforward:

  1. Choose one Double position from 1 through 6.
  2. Enter the stake in PHP.
  3. Wait for betting to close.
  4. Three dice are rolled.
  5. Check whether at least two dice show the selected face.
  6. Apply the payout printed for that table.

PHP Example: ₱100 on Double 4

Suppose the table pays 10:1 and you place ₱100 on Double 4. A roll of 4-4-6 wins: The profit is ₱1,000, with the original ₱100 stake returned separately. A result of 4-3-2 loses the ₱100 stake.

The appeal is easy to see: One number, three dice, no total to calculate. The trade-off is a low hit frequency.

Probability and House Edge

Three fair six-sided dice create 216 equally likely ordered outcomes. For one chosen Double, 16 outcomes win.

Probability and House Edge

Probability and House Edge

The 16 Winning Outcomes

Take Double 5. Exactly two 5s can appear in three positions, while the remaining die can be any of the other five numbers:

3 × 5 = 15 outcomes.

Add 5-5-5:

15 + 1 = 16 winning outcomes.

16 ÷ 216 = 7.407%, or about one winning result in every 13.5 rolls on average.

That average is not a schedule. A Double can miss for far longer because every roll is independent.

Payout Changes the Long-Term Cost

The probability stays at 7.407%, but published Sic Bo schedules use different Specific Double payouts, including 8:1, 10:1 and 11:1.

For the same 16/216 probability:

  • 8:1 payout: About 33.33% house edge.
  • 10:1 payout: About 18.52% house edge.
  • 11:1 payout: About 11.11% house edge.
  • 11.5:1 payout: About 7.41% house edge.

Double 1 and Double 6 are equally likely to win. A better paytable changes the mathematics; choosing a different face value does not.

Double Bets Compared with Similar Sic Bo Bets

Several Sic Bo boxes involve individual numbers, but their probabilities differ sharply.

Double vs Single Number

A Single Number bet wins when the chosen face appears on at least one die. That occurs in 91 of 216 outcomes, or about 42.13%.

A specific Double needs the same number at least twice, reducing the probability to 16 of 216, or 7.41%. The larger quoted payout compensates for that lower hit rate.

Double vs Two-Dice Combination

A two-dice Combination uses two different numbers. Betting 3-5 means both 3 and 5 must appear somewhere among the three dice.

Double 3 instead needs two or more 3s. A standard two-number combination has 30 winning ordered outcomes from 216, or 13.89%, compared with 16 for a specific Double.

Double vs Specific Triple

Triple 5 wins only on 5-5-5: One outcome from 216, or about 0.46%.

Double 5 accepts 5-5-1, 5-2-5, 6-5-5 and 5-5-5. That wider winning set explains why its payout is much lower than the Specific Triple payout.

Double Bets at NICEPH

At NICEPH, treat the displayed Sic Bo rules as part of the bet. Different game suppliers can use different payout schedules, table limits or special features, so the number printed beside Double deserves attention before any PHP stake is placed.

Check the Table Before Betting

Confirm four details:

  • The payout for the selected Double.
  • The minimum and maximum stake.
  • How a matching triple is treated.
  • Whether the game uses fixed payouts or multiplier mechanics.

This prevents a common mistake: Assuming every Sic Bo table prices the same probability identically.

Standard and Multiplier Versions

Some modern versions add random multipliers to selected bet spots. Evolution’s Super Sic Bo is one example. The Double condition may stay familiar while the possible payout changes, so fixed-paytable and multiplier versions should be judged separately.

Common Double Bet Errors

Reading “Double” as 2x

The word describes the dice pattern, not the payout. Double 2 predicts repeated 2s; it does not mean the return is automatically twice the stake.

Treating a Triple as a Loss

Under the standard rule above, 2-2-2 still qualifies for Double 2. Only a separately placed Triple bet receives the Triple payout.

Chasing a Missing Number

If Double 6 has not appeared for 30 rounds, its next-roll probability is still 16/216. “Double 6 is due” is not a mathematical reason to increase the stake.

Using Double Bets with a Clear Plan

Double Bet in Sic Bo has a low hit frequency, so stake size matters. If ₱2,000 is set aside for a session, repeated ₱500 Double bets allow only four full losing attempts. A ₱100 stake leaves much more room for normal variance.

Compare Payouts, Not “Hot” Numbers

Every specific Double has the same 7.407% probability:

  • Double 1 is not safer than Double 6.
  • A recent winner is not more likely to repeat.
  • A long-missing Double is not statistically overdue.

When two tables offer the same winning condition but different payouts, leveraging odds makes the comparison clearer because the probability stays the same while the available price changes.

Double Bet in Sic Bo in One Calculation

A Double Bet in Sic Bo wins when at least two of three dice show the exact face chosen. There are 16 winning outcomes among 216 possible ordered rolls, giving every specific Double a 7.407% win probability.

Keep those two numbers in mind: 16 winning outcomes and 216 total outcomes. From there, the table payout determines the long-term cost. On NICEPH, check that payout first, choose a stake that can tolerate losing runs, and treat each roll as an independent event.
